The most visited vacation spot in the Nation, the Great Smoky Mountains Nation park is 800 square miles of protected forest along the borders of North Carolina and Tennessee. In the middle of all of this is Gatlinburg, a home base for tourists who are enjoying hiking, white water rafting, fishing and horseback riding or for those who are just enjoying the scenery and the wild life.
After you take in the beautiful mountain landscapes that Gatlinburg has to offer at ground level, make sure you take in the views at 342 feet by taking an elevator ride up to the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle. Once you are back on land, stop by the amusement center located next to the needle, which is full of rides and games for all ages. Looking for more excitement and adventure? Take in an amazing lagoon full of sharks or touch a Ray Ban at of the Ripley’s Aquarium. If shopping is more of your speed, the Gatlinburg strip contains many unique shops containing many various items, gifts, novelties and more.
