All Americans are familiar with the story of Plymouth Rock, where the first English settlers first stepped foot from their magnificent voyage on the Mayflower. What some people might not know is that still today, Plymouth, Massachusetts is a thriving town full of history, culture and charm.
When visiting Plymouth make sure you watch your time because you are going to be disappointed if you miss out on any of the wonderful tours, events, or fine dining opportunities. The area offers an assortment of historical tours where you can actually follow the same paths that the pilgrims took when discovering America. Just by visiting the local library, one can do extensive research in the library’s historical section to see if you are a descendant of one of America’s fist pilgrim settlers. To really step back in time, add visiting the Plimouth Plantation to your list of things to do. Here 17th century New England is brought to life in the 1627 Pilgrim Village and onboard Mayflower II. Visitors find themselves transported in time by Pilgrims and the ship’s crew who are portrayed in accurate detail, even speaking in period dialects as they perform the tasks of daily life. When stepping back into the 21st century, make sure you take in a five star meal at one of many fine restaurants that Plymouth has to offer or stroll through one of the many antique shops.
