Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Tours & Gift Shop
It all began in junior high gym class in Merrick, Long Island. Two boys, running around the athletic field, had found a common bond. Ben Cohen & Jerry Greenfield hated running, but they loved food. In 1978 they decided to go into business together. With diplomas from a $5 correspondence course & their life savings ($8,000), they converted an old abandoned gas station in Burlington, Vermont, into the original Ben & Jerry?s & stated making Vermont?s Finest ice cream. They used only fresh Vermont cream & milk, & the best & biggest chunks of nuts, fruits, candies & cookies. It wasn?t long before the lines for ice cream stretched out the door, & that was only the beginning. You see, Ben & Jerry wanted to run a business that would share its rewards with its employees & with the community.

Birds of Vermont Museum
The Birds of Vermont Museum is a delightful place where visitors can learn about birds and their roles in the earth's ecosystems. A private, non-profit organization, the Museum features over 475 carved birds, representing 258 species. The woodcarvings depict Vermont's nesting species in their natural habitats as well as North America's endangered and extinct species. The Museum's displays, the surrounding 100 acre bird sanctuary/nature preserve, and the bird viewing window offer visitors a unique opportunity to see and study birds that will not fly away! The birds have been carved by one man, Robert Spear, Jr., a native Vermonter, who is one of Vermont's foremost naturalists and woodcarvers, with a few by his apprentice. Several picnic spots with tables are available at the Museum, just outside the front door and at a nearby pond, a short walk away. Each year between 4000-5000 adults and children visit the Museum. Audubon Vermont is located just down the road from the Museum, convenient for combined visits.

Cochan's Ski Area
The Cochran family opened their first rope tow in 1961 to provide skiing for their children and neighboring kids during the week. Since then the backyard training area has grown into a challenging ski area with expanded lifts and slopes. But the love and thrill of downhill skiing that started the Cochran's on the road to World Cup and Olympic competition still permeates the Cochran Ski Area, the downhill ski area with the cross-country atmosphere. Friendly people, interesting skiing. Cochran's Ski Area, Inc. is the nation's first 501(c)3 not-for-profit ski area. Donations help ensure the future of this community resource. We introduce skiing to over 800 local children every year. Fund raising events like the 5th Annual Cochran 100 Bike enable us to keep our prices affordable so every child can have the opportunity to ski or ride.

Cold Hollow Cider Mill & Apple Corps Gift Shop
The Cold Hollow Cider Mill is one of the top producers of Fresh Apple Cider in all of New England. We are also one of the very few that press year-round. The Mill has become one of the top tourist attractions in Vermont because our operation is open to public viewing. Come and see cider that's still made the old fashioned way, with a rack and cloth press built in the 1920's. We are open year-round, 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (8:00 am to 7:00 pm during the summer months). After you have seen cider made, it's time to wander through the large Retail store and check out many of the specialty foods we have to offer. Bring your appetite, since you can sample plenty of jellies, mustards, applesauce, fudge, and other goodies. In the Summer, watch real bees make honey in our honey corner (don't worry, they're behind glass). Honeybees play a big part in the apple world, as they are responsible for pollenating the orchards each spring while they are in bloom to ensure a "well set" crop. You may be lured by an overwhelming aroma to The Donut Counter, where you can sink your teeth into our legendary cider donuts. These donuts were featured in Gourmet Magazine, as one of the top four donuts in the country. They go great with a big cup of fresh Vermont-made Coffee. We sell many fresh mouth-watering baked goods from our natural ingredient bakery right in the store, including apple pies, pumpkin rolls, maple cream cheese pockets, apple-cheddar squares, and many others. In addition to the thousands of specialty food products in the Mill, don't forget to check out the Apple Core Gift Shop. This building, across the driveway from our main building, is home to our Fudge making operation, and toy hub. The Grand View Winery is in the Apple Core as well, where you can taste Vermont made wines and hard cider. The Cold Hollow Cider Mill welcomes tour groups and buses, school groups, families or anyone interested in seeing one of the areas most popular attractions, 7 days a week - year 'round.

Grand View Winery
Grand View Winery is a family owned farm winery producing exceptional grape wines and wines from fruits that grow easily and naturally in Vermont. In addition to using fruits from our own orchards and groves, we support other Vermont farms and orchards by purchasing their fruits. We use organically grown produce whenever possible. Over the ten years that we have been producing wine, our wines have won regional, national and international awards. While focusing on fruits that grow easily in Vermont, we produce wines that are not overly sweet. Limiting the sweetness brings out more of the natural flavors of the fruit. All wines are allowed to age at least twelve months before bottling. Grape wines are often aged two years. We use no oak barrels or oak chips to avoid masking the true flavors. Come off the beaten path. Enjoy our rural setting with 50-mile views. Bring a lunch to enjoy with a selected wine while sitting outside soaking up the views, flower gardens and tranquility. Or visit our Retail Shop and Tasting Room on Route 100, Waterbury Center, at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Open 7 days week all year round.

Old Round Church
The Old Round Church, was built in 1812-14 under the direction of local craftsman William Rhodes to be the Town Meeting Hall and place of worship for members of five Protestant denominations. Significant for its rare design and well-preserved detail, it is perhaps the sole surviving example of an early 19th-century 16-sided wooden meetinghouse. Today it is open to the public during the summer and fall foliage seasons (10-4 daily) and is a venue for weddings and community programs .

Owls Head Blueberry Farm
Evenings Are Best ... We think so anyway. We put a great deal of effort into being open during the evening hours. We find that our guests enjoy a brief visit to the country on a hot summers' day. The fields cool down quickly later in the day and berry picking is much more enjoyable. The long shadows on the green Vermont hillsides are soothing after a hectic day at work or in the burbs. Come and enjoy... it's the part you don't have to pay for. Enjoy the views, cool off and chill out after a hot day at work. The picking is easy and the experience will be one you'll be sure to remember. Bring the family and be our guest for an evening of music while you pick. Evenings are best...but Saturdays and Sundays work also.
