Resort Maps - Making Travelers Happy for Over 30 Years
Headquartered in the Green Mountains of Vermont, Resort Maps has been creating and publishing advertising maps in the northeastern U.S. for over 30 years. We love our New England roots and are proud to be based in Waitsfield, nestled in the center of Vermont's gorgeous Mad River Valley. In 1993, Resort Maps expanded its global reach by creating a franchise model for distribution of its beautifully illustrated, hand-drawn maps of resort towns, vacation destinations and cities. Today, that network of franchises has grown to 100 Resort Maps in publication in the US, the UK, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica, with several more in the process of being published. Nearly 25 million Resort Maps will be printed and distributed in 2010 and these figures continue to grow each year.
What is a Resort Map Anyway?
Resort Maps is the creator of customized travel maps and has made a name for itself by showcasing local advertisers for tourists and residents and encouraging them to enjoy the journey as well as their final destination. Each map is a piece of creative artwork that provides detail and enjoyment of a destination on a level unmatched in any other map available, many users say they enjoy looking at them long after their trip is over!
Resort Maps are colorful, hand-drawn maps of towns and cities, distributed free to area visitors at travel information and rest areas as well as at advertiser locations. Each map highlights local attractions and things to do, restaurants, accommodations, retail shops, real estate and other services. Each advertiser on the map is represented with a display ad on the perimeter of the map, including a color-coded grid locator and their actual building hand-drawn, highlighted and labeled, making it easy to locate. Our maps are often imitated but never duplicated.
100 Resort Maps and Counting!
“The journey to 100 maps has been quite a ride, but it’s an accomplishment we’re quite proud of,” said Peter Hans, president of Resort Maps. “With people traveling less or staying local for their vacations, it’s really increased the value of our maps. So, while we’ll take a step back and briefly celebrate 100, our sights are set on the next milestone, 150.”
