Thank you, Tasha! A word on the course. We ran it last year and although it appeared to be newly paved, it was pretty coarse. Look for the edges of the road, which are smoother and mix things up by running on the grass when you can. There's a few feet of gravel before you enter the track, but it goes quickly. For newbies, you may want to carry a pair of light weight shoes with you just in case. There's no shame in throwing on a pair of shoes when your feet feel fatigued. The important thinig is to have fun! More details on the race below. Date Thursday, November 25, 2010 @ 10:00 AM Address CU Research Park Fees $15 pre registered, $20 race day Registration Closing Date Wednesday, November 24, 2010 @ 3:00 PM Brief Description A no frills, low key 5K. New faster course this year still through the US West Research Park on the CU Boulder east campus. Race day registration is at the CU Outdoor Track, near 30th St. & Colorado Ave. Race day registration begins at 9:00 AM, and the race starts at 10:00 AM. Chip timing All runners will pick up their timing chips on race day in the registration area. Last year, we used a series of zipties to hang the timing chips off of our ankles. No Dogs or Strollers Allowed No dogs or strollers will be allowed in the race because of CU's requirements for the outdoor track. Thanks for helping us out so that we can continue to use their facilities. Additional Information We ask runners to bring a canned food item or monetary donation for the Boulder County Food Share Program. Remember, $1 = 4 meals! All 5K finishers will receive a Turley's gift certificate and age group prizes will be awarded.
