DUBSKIN with TATANKA Show Date: 2012-01-06 Originating in Ft. Collins, Co in 2006, DubSkin has since become a prominent fixture on the American reggae scene. After releasing two full length albums, Love in Spite of in 2007 and No End in Time in 2009, DubSkin has just finished their best work to date Release from Fear. This collection of songs, that was written and recorded in 2011 and was mixed by Jason "Jocko Randall of John Brown's Body, incorporates many styles of reggae and beyond. Running the gamut from roots, steppers, rockers and dancehall, Release from Fear also shows DubSkin's love for many other styles of music including hip-hop, rock, funk and more. In addition to recording ground breaking music, DubSkin has also played some of the top venues and festivals in America including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Wakarusa, Camp Bisco, Summer Camp, Desert Rocks and more. Combining soulful vocals, conscious lyrics, catchy melodies and body moving rhythms, DubSkin is blazing a trail of their own in the reggae musical landscape. This trio of denver dub samurai's just recently released they re first studio E.P. entitled Sounds in Technicolor. Sounds in Technicolor has reached over 4,000 downloads through Tatanka's website and social networking sites. The release has been dubbed as drum and bass music for a new generation, a twist on new and old reggae riddim's and an instant classic. The pulsing basslines provided by Tatanka's Malonestar seem to rock the mind into trance while Champian's guitar work and The Mexico's hi-hat, snare and kick drum 4/4 playing styles pepper over the top of the album's four track's almost flawlessly. Tatanka has shared the stage with many major national and international acts that include but are not limited to: Eoto, Slightly Stoopid, The Motet, Easy Star All-Stars, The Black Seeds, John Brown's Body, The Expendables, Groundation, Iration, Passafire and more. The Tatanka trio continues to push they're sound to the next level.
