BRAINCHILD & AFTERNOON MOON *No Cover* Show Date: 2011-09-08 Brainchild is a band that combines the feeling of jazz and soul with the intensity of shredding guitar solos. Their growing list of original songs combined with a diverse selection of covers are the perfect blend of music to keep you singing, smiling, laughing, and dancing all night long. During the past year they have been traveling the Midwest, rocking out with bands such as Sublime, the Marshall Tucker Band, Oteil and the Peacemakers, 56 Hope Road, Family Groove Company, and Groovatron. Roy Ponce, of Brainchild, has sat in with Umphrey's Mcgee on several occasions. A recent highlight was having special guest Kris Myers, of Umphrey's Mcgee, sit in at Brainchild's post Umphrey's Mcgee NYE show in Chicago. 2011 marks their seventh consecutive performance at the Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL. They are touted as one of the most exciting live bands in the Midwest, as well as one of the most talented up and coming bands in the nation. http://www.brainchildjam.com/ Afternoon Moon is an Illinois based progressive jam band that has been moving and shaking in the mid-west scene since 2009. From a place where you stare out into mysterious clouds and swear you can hear the corn grow; Afternoon Moon has been creating an interesting honest sound. Bridging the gaps between progressive flatland folk, Chicago blues, and psychedelic funk grooves and rhythms; the music is true organic rock n roll. The band consists of four members: Josh Daniels (vocals/guitar), Justin Crabb (percussion), Jordan Daniels (vocals/piano/organ/moog), and Luke Kinzler (bass guitar). Afternoon Moon would just like to focus on sharing their own ideas.
