Introduction to Grant Proposal Writing

When:
Community Foundation for Monterey County Office, 2354 Garden Road

Where:
Thursday, October 6.

Learn the essentials you'll need to prepare clear and compelling grant proposals geared to foundations. Understand what should be in place before you write as well as how to present your agency's best case for funder support, and take away a format and question list to use for every proposal you write. The workshop will also reference the Common Grant Application in use by the five major Monterey County funders and discuss how to package a grant to meet funders' guidelines and priorities. Instructor Joy Rubey has worked with nonprofit organizations for nearly 30 years as a staff member, administrator, board member, volunteer and consultant specializing in fundraising and grant proposal writing. She has a Master of Arts in Public Administration and is currently a lecturer in nonprofit management for CSUMB's Department of Health, Human Services and Public Policy. "Joy was very engaging and her personal examples were helpful." -Karen DeWitt, Ag Against Hunger, 2010 Attendee
