Visit the Bike Depot for an hour to learn how to open up a bottom bracket, degrease it, clean the bearings, and re-pack it with fresh grease! We have a fresh supply of loose-ball bottom brackets on hand at the shop, so you do not need to worry about bringing a bike. In fact, your efforts will likely help us to prepare bicycles for Denver residents who are in need of transportation and who otherwise would not be able to afford a bicycle! Volunteer mechanics will guide you along throughout the process of opening up a bottom bracket, identifying its parts, cleaning it out, re-packing it with fresh grease and adjusting it properly afterward. Aprons and gloves will be provided - this can get a bit messy!
