About the class: Power Yoga is a Vinyasa flow that combine numerous postures. This class has upbeat music and is designed for the athlete; it provides hip opening, upper body strengthening and core strengthing benefits. Vinyasa practice, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind. Power Yoga is a perfect compliment to weight and cardio training. We recommend to bring your own mat, towel, and wear sunscreen. (If there is inclement weather, class will be conducted indoors). About the teacher: Maya currently teaches at CorePower. Maya began practicing yoga when she was in college, but it wasn't until she graduated and lived in Australia, New York City, and then San Diego that she realized how important yoga was to her overall health and wellness. Living far from home, and working in the busy profession of marketing and public relations, Maya found that yoga provided her with happiness and peace-of-mind. In 2008, she decided to deepen her yoga practice and began teacher training at CPY in San Diego. Besides yoga, Maya spends her days working for a non-profit based in Boulder and Uganda that provides leadership and mentoring to students in Africa. Maya believes yoga is a way of life and enjoys bringing the joy of yoga to others.
