About the class: This restorative type of "inner-body" yoga uses a series of guided visualizations and deep relaxation techniques to move beyond the conditioned mind into a state of expanded self-awareness. Access to the deeper realms of the mind allow one to release the sources of tensions, anxiety, unwanted habits, and self-limiting beliefs, in turn, awakening one's greatest inner potential. The practice is performed in shavasana (corpse pose), and each class begins with 15 minutes of gentle, meditative asana About the teacher: Since childhood, he has pursued the growth and development of both mind and body in what started with a deep interest in the martial arts. After reaching a second degree black belt in Taekwondo he went on to teach as an assistant and later found Capoeira where he trained and taught with the American Capoeira Association in Boulder and Denver Colorado. His interest self exploration has since broadened to include yoga, meditation and healing. He began his study of various forms of yoga in 1998, and is now certified in Classical Yoga (the 8-limb practice of Traditional Ashtanga Yoga as outlined by Patanjali) having received his training in Nasik, India. He is also a Reiki Master Healer in the Mikao Usui tradition. His yoga and meditation classes seek to incorporate the holistic practice of yoga illuminating the transcendental element of yoga's deeply spiritual origin.
