Though the island itself is only 4 miles wide and 22 miles long, there is never a lack of places to go or things to discover while on island. If shopping in Vieques is on your list of things to do, don’t worry! There are plenty of locally owned shops that carry Caribbean made clothing, locally made art work such as pottery, jewelry and paintings. There are plenty of souvenir shops to find that perfect reminder of your trip and don’t forget to bring back some of Vieques’s famous hot sauce.

Relaxing on the pristine beaches of Vieques is a must while visiting the island and is a daily routine for its visitors and locals. Don’t forget your sunscreen or your snorkeling gear as Vieques is known for its great underwater life. SCUBA is also a popular activity while on the island, along with body surfing and boogie boarding.

When the sun begins to set, that means it is time to visit one of the many restaurants and fine dining establishments in Vieques. Stop by one of the local seafood restaurants to sample on some of the freshest seafood you will ever eat, but if you are home sick there are plenty of American styled restaurants where you can stop and get a juicy hamburger and fries. If you are of the non meat eating sort, Vieques has an assortment of vegetarian restaurants for you to choose from.
